Now My Job’s Gone, Gone, Gone
You’ve wasted a year of your life? That’s how it feels. You hunkered down in your house, shut out friends and family. Accept it — you can’t get it back.
What more did the pandemic cost me? Job options.
I had planned to spend the year looking for better career prospects. What I found were jobs that I didn’t want. Retail and working in an office — been there, done that, standing on my feet for eight hours — I’m 51. What I want is to work from home. Yes! Those trapped inside their house during COVID are screaming. But I could work in my pjs from my couch watching TV — multitasking!
Delving into working from home has brought surprising options. I challenge everyone to go on a job site and do a search for remote positions. Endless opportunities. So, I journey on.
My journey, with any luck, has changed. I am no longer looking for ANY job. I’m looking for the right job. Yes, I might have to choose something I don’t want to survive. But I will look forward to a better opportunity. I refuse to settle. Everyone! Find a new job that you love — hopefully in your pajamas. If you like wearing your PJs.
