WRITING ALL THOSE THOUGHTS DOWN SWIRLING IN YOUR HEAD
Maybe It Will Produce A Hit Story. . . Or Just Relieve a Headache
Why can’t I finish that article I am trying to write? Sitting in front of my laptop I have all these ideas swirling in my head. I type out about a hundred words and then . . . nothing. I think, “do a little research”, so I google some ideas and type some more and then . . . zero. I get up go to the bathroom, grab something to eat, and sit back down and pick up my laptop. I stare at the screen and reread what I have already typed. I put my hands on the keyboard and . . . zilch. I can’t complete an article. I do a little more research, googling more to try to stretch out the article. Then I argue to myself how long does this article really needs to be — 500 words, 800 words, 1,000 words — of course, then I google that — “typical length of article”.
Frustration sets in and then my brain goes into overdrive. I forget what I was writing about. Then another idea pops in my head and I start a new word document and start typing about another topic. I have a file folder filled with word documents that I have started. Some have 50 words, some have just a sentence. I go back to the article at hand and start reading it from the top, perhaps hoping it will finish itself.
PLEASE, LET ME FINISH
