Four Years Flies By

Lightning Storm over city

It was a dark and stormy November night in 2016. What we didn’t know was what lay ahead. The chaos, the lies, tweets, celebrity feuds, upside-down bibles, Saudi Arabian magical orbs. Covfefe? Some people thought it wouldn’t last long much less four years. Then the first year went by as three leaders posed touching a glowing orb. Later in the year, we met some “very fine people” and he showed his athletic prowess by tossing rolls of paper towels. The second year kicked off with “love letters” to the North Korean leader with lies, lies, and more lies. The “very stable genius” congratulated a hurricane victim about “the nice boat” he got. It landed in his yard. The third year rolled in with windmills causing cancer. Also, praising the “takeover of airports” by George Washington’s Continental Army during the Revolutionary War [hint: the first flight at Kitty Hawk was in 1903 while the Revolutionary war ended in 1783]. Do the math!

In the final year he conveyed his medical expertise. He displayed his skill in the cure for a pandemic with sunlight and bleach injections. Throw in a tiny desk, and a post-COVID diagnosis joy ride with Secret Service [along with other stupid things he said about the virus].

Fast Forward Four Years [not fast enough]

We made it! We turned the corner — -albeit a windy, crooked one. Trump’s presidency was over. I survived [don’t know about everybody else], barely scathed, some scars. It’s January 20, 2021, and he flew off sulking [he wouldn’t even go to the inauguration]. The dark times were over. At least we hope. The sun seemed to shine. I think I heard angels sing [or it could’ve been HIM whining].
