Weaponizing the Wearing of Masks

It weighs little next to nothing. It’s about 6 to 8 inches wide. It comes in all different colors and designs. It’s made of cotton, polyester, polypropylene — moldable plastic and it’s set off a firestorm. What do people have against this piece of cloth? People yank them off others’ faces, they burn them. They curse and yell at each other over them. Threaten others’ lives for wearing one or not wearing one. Some have even been killed over them!

What did this piece of cloth do to deserve all this hostility?

What if it could save someone’s life? Wouldn’t it be worth it? Science even seems to now be controversial. Study after study says wearing a face mask could reduce transmission. What’s wrong with that? For some, it is very wrong. Simple fix, dispute the studies. Call them fiction, call the ones conducting the studies liars — CDC is the devil! Do you know how many death threats Anthony Fauci has received? [Hey Fauci, retire, find a deserted island, and tell the world to go to hell!]

Even if face masks aren’t the best thing for COVID, even if you don’t believe in masks who has the right to threaten anyone?
