I see the same thing happening here whether Trump is convicted or not of the charges contained in Jack Smith’s revised indictment, but at least a public airing of Trump’s January 6th culpability will give our political culture at least some degree of reality, particularly if the blue team remains competitive in contests for the White House and the two chambers on Capitol Hill.
