Trump goes to wacky Waco
Since writing for Medium for almost two years, I discovered something peculiar. The article that I wrote with the most views has Trump in the title — 786 views and counting. The second most viewed article at more than a hundred also has Trump in the title. Do readers have an affinity for the former president?
Of course, then, couldn’t pass up the opportunity for a jab at Trump’s whack-a-doo weekend getaway to Waco. Texas wouldn’t be my first or tenth choice for a retreat. Trump?
I forced myself to watch the video footage of what Trump called a rally. Couldn’t find it live, but honestly, I wasn’t looking either. Trump and his ilk feigned ignorance of the significance of the location and timing. Those too young to remember what happened there almost 30 years ago.
A Trump rally wouldn’t be good and Trumpy without opening with a song ironically titled, Justice for All. Considering his legal woes. Even more, sung by a choir of men imprisoned for their role in the January 6 insurrection. As well as Trump reciting the Pledge of Allegiance. Throwing up in my mouth now!
Note: don’t know how a bunch of people currently sitting in jail produced a song.
