The Earth is “Screaming” For Help — Sen. Elmo Munchkin has His Fingers in His Ears
Or is the Money in His Pockets Making Him Deaf?
Climate activists have been sounding the alarm on a crisis for years. Politicians refuse to listen. One seems to be deaf — paging Elmo Munchkin! He receives hundreds of thousands of dollars from oil, gas, and coal companies. Also, campaign donations from rich people. He refuses to make any deal that would reduce fossil fuels. Not to mention cut the subsidies they get from the federal government.
FOOD FOR THOUGHT — Why do fossil fuels need subsidies? Billions of dollars to keep the oil pumping. How about the other energy-producing industries? Do they get the same amount in subsidies — solar, wind? Don’t think so. Are they on equal footing in the energy game? Most likely not. Are all fossil fuel companies even on the same footing? The big businesses gobble up the small ones.
Munchkin objects to the bill that would slash emissions. So much for the U.S. being a global leader in renewable energy. Guess Munchkin and his ilk figure it will take a few hundred more years for the Earth to die. They’re not going to be here, so what. He’s more worried about the economic hit to his state or is it his pocketbook? His donations from the fossil fuel industry are no secret. Nor is all the other politicians who get money from…
