Stop Asking Old White Men For Their Opinion
You Most Likely Won’t Like What They Have To Say or Don’t Want To Hear It
Why do male reporters/commentators persist in asking male politicians about their views on abortion? Statistically, these politicians are old white men. Better yet. Insist on giving their viewpoint. As they will NEVER know how it feels to be pregnant, raped and pregnant, poor and pregnant, or alone and pregnant. Does anyone wish for once they would just say,
“I don’t think I should answer questions about abortion because I will NEVER know what it’s like to be in that position.”
How many of us would stand up and applaud that politician for that answer?
Don’t hold your breath, I don’t see that happening anytime. What politician has resisted NOT answering a question where he can give his opinion? There are politicians that have perfected the sport of “NO COMMENT”, running from reporters, or both. But when they need to score points with their constituents. They want that 10-second sound bite for their media devotees. They require a slap on the back from their fellow politicians. They can NOT thrust their opinion because they can’t personally relate. That won’t achieve any of their goals.
