Screw The Constitution!
Politicians invoke an outdated 233-year-old piece of paper
It originated in 1789. Yep, we ground our laws on something written more than 200 hundred years ago. 200 years, when only white men — looking ridiculous wearing white wigs — reigned. The only horsepower was four-legged. Even more, a gun consisted of something that fired one projectile at a time.
What if we base everything on the Constitution? Some politicians would love that. Even though they more than likely don’t even know what is in the Constitution. Much less understand it. Or more importantly what’s not.
If it’s not in the Constitution, then that right doesn’t exist. Do you interpret it literally or is it open to interpretation? Politicians to this day are debating.
A surprising fact to some — in the Constitution’s 4,400 words “privacy” is not one of them. The Supreme Court infers for rights such as abortion, marriage, or contraception. Do you think a bunch of men in 1789 would come up with contraception?
“God” doesn’t appear in the Constitution either. Evangelicals and Christians start scanning now. Keep looking. No, it’s not there.
