Does the Holiday Drive You Batty or Make You Happy?

Christmas is my favorite and least favorite. Hear me out you might agree. Who doesn’t love the Christmas tunes and the Holiday Lights? OK, some might object to the tunes. Especially when there are radio stations that start playing Christmas tunes in October. Do you have one in your area? I do. The music tests us. There are some songs I could listen to all year — The 12 Pains of Christmas. There is some the novelty has worn off and hearing them is like nails on a chalkboard. I can’t flip the station fast enough. Do you know any? How about The Chipmunk Song or Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer?

The lights? Do you like blinking? Watch the YouTube videos of houses blinking lights to Wizards in Winter — my favorite! Movies? You have loads. There’s one that comes to mind that divides families. You either love it or hate it and you could watch it for a whole day — A Christmas Story. “You’ll shoot your eye out, kid.”

Presents are a kids’ favorite, adults though? [kids don’t read past this point] There’s the shopping, the wrapping, hiding, taking kids to see Santa — whew. Dinner is another catch-22. If you’re only eating, you probably love it. Gravy, stuffing, mac n’ cheese, any variation of chocolate, and of course, pie. If you must make it? I know one of the best places to buy pie — Not pumpkin, eww! You must preorder at least a week ahead.

Could rant some more but you get it. Did I forget your favorite Christmas tirade?
